I created three posters and a review for the Sight and Sound Magazine.
For the magazine review I researched as many film magazines as I could find, to see which would be most appropriate for my review to be placed in.
Although publications such as ‘Total Film’ and ‘Empire’ are very well known, they often review more expensive Hollywood blockbusters. They often focus on films with costly effects and CGI, which are unlike my film which is a low budget short.
The ‘Sight and Sound’ magazine offers its highbrow audience many reviews on arty films from all over the world. Social Realism films are often present in this magazine to, and so I thought it would be perfect to inspire the layout of my review.

For my posters I researched as many film posters as I could. I noticed how big budget films often feature fancy photography and graphics in their advertisement posters, where low budget films (especially of the Social Realism genre) feature simple photography and more writing about the film. I kept this in mind when I designed my three posters, which are each of a similar picture which has been colour enhanced, manipulated and given text on the computer program ‘Photoshop.’
